Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinct blend of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. From Broadway to European festival and clubs, Sunshine has performed across the globe. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. She is now a resident of Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang and played piano. She was a student at Spellman College and began to learn the R&B styles of Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals,"Stalk You the House came out only in Japan. The song has been remixed numerous times and has become a staple of her live shows. The singer has also provided her vocals on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she became the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to serve as the director of the choral group for the stage production. Sunshine received national attention during her four daily performances at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing during President Obama's inaugural in 2009.
