Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV personality who is a chef, and a an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, explains easy techniques any person can master. The chef Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. She also has explored Italy's cuisine and culture, and the surrounding geography. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food in her early years. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her following her graduation with the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I loved every minute of being a student in The Culinary Institute of America she says. It was impossible to learn, do or work enough. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, and has made an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of struggling children. Burrell is also an Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate, where she promotes awareness of juvenile diabetics. She travels frequently around the United States in her position as both a mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne said she felt lucky to be able to share her true passion with other people.
